Al's Tramping Page

Ok, I have a love of tramping. There is something about wandering out in the bush, around hillsides, up rivers and over passes. And its a great way to get away from the city and keep fit.

Below are some of the walks that I have been on in the last couple of years, plus a quick route description of each..

Travers River - A planned walk of the Travers Saddle loop in the Nelson Lakes National Park, but excess snow blocked the way.

Waiau Pass - 5 day solo trip between Lake Rotoroa and Lewis Pass.

Cass Saddle - Avoca River - Klondyke Corner - 4 day walk in Arthurs Pass National Park.

Foggy Peak - Half day walk from Porters Pass

Mount Richardson - Day walk up behind Oxford.

Temple Basin - Snowy walk to test out ice axe and crampons.

Rakaia Gorge Walkway - Day walk in the Rakaia Gorge.

Mt Oxford - Day walk up Mount Oxford

Anti Crow Hut - Day walk up to Anti Crow Hut

Lake Kaurapataka - Overnight camp with new tent at Lake Kaurapataka

Goat Pass - Overnight trip up Mingha River to Goat Pass hut
