Al's Trip's Photos. Last lot.

Going into the army base in Fairbanks, these only put here since Sep 11. Good fun in the ice and snow.

Driving around the base. Much the same as on the normal roads, just dodge the things bigger than oneself and it will be all good.

The outhouse at Kath place (not in use!). Has the essentials (box of clays) and even a little seat for the small ones. The white stuff is not snow, its polystyrene. This thing has no insulation what so ever!

(L-R) Deb, Rose, Kath and Camden. All just got back from town and shopping.

Ahh, this pole thing. They see each year just when the ice is going to break by tying a piece of string from the top of it (placed in middle of river in the ice) to a clock on the riverbank. When ice breaks, tripod moves, pulls string and clock stops. Winner is person who predicts time. Lots of dollars for winner.

On the way to Tom Walker's place, Kath went up the wrong road and turned around in this spot. a lovely view, but not the best for doing a 180.

Ahh, back to Fort Collins. This is the view from the town reservior, looking east. Kinda flat out that way.

Kath's flat. Not her car out front :( The mounds of snow are from my efforts at snow shovelling .FUN!

The two female flatmates - Donna on the futon and Jenni on the ground.

Brian making truffles for his woman in New York. These were good!

A squirrel in the stump eating my ginger loaf cum rock. We didn;t eat it, but this little fella was quite partial to it.

City Park Lake, or ice pond thingo. Part of the non migrating bird population.

Another little squirrel at the base of the tree. Just about touched a friend of his up another tree. Soooo shootable though!

The other side of the lake. Lots of ducks, geese and swans. Also other little things. All living in the small non frozen part of the lake.

Kath's room. It's a typical Kath really. All her tidiness plus a bit of mine as well.

Obligitory kitchen photo. The man's mixer in the red corner with oldest stove in existance in the right near corner

Al out snow shoeing at about 3km high. A lovely day!!!! The backdrop is a lake with 2 inches snow.

Lauren in a snowcave. This lovely lady was my guide (and provider of the bum shot - she didn;t want to turn around :) Massive thing with quite a passage between the top and the bottom, enough for me to stand up in at any rate.

The lake again, looking towards the north east.

Ahh, now in Salt Lake City. This chopper was flying about all over the place and someone may know what it was. A gyrocopter thing, quite nifty and good looking.

The finaly picture. The tent was the temporary bus terminal during the Olympics and the sign is for Burger King. The reason is the white scribble along the bottom. It reads "Picture Menu's Available At Window" HUH? What?? Thats real intelligent ain't it.
